I would love to hear from you! I always read any personal messages and usually respond. Here’s an example of one I didn’t respond to (though I read): “More information sir” (that was the whole message).
But I have had some wonderful conversations, including with some of the authors of the book I responded to, and many other people besides and this has been one of the great joys of writing.
